FawkesFocus is a passion project by Mike—a birder, amateur photographer, and Harry Potter fan. The site showcases my bird photography, celebrates the beauty of avian life, and shares my ongoing journey to improve as a photographer.
Yes, but with transparency! I edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom to refine colors, lighting, or details, but I avoid heavy manipulation. Each image includes metadata (camera settings, ISO, etc.) so fellow photographers can learn from my process—successes and mistakes.
You’re welcome to enjoy them for personal use (e.g., wallpapers, birding inspiration), but please do not sell, redistribute, or use them commercially without permission. If you share them online, credit/linking to FawkesFocus.com is appreciated!
As a Harry Potter fan, I named the site after Fawkes the Phoenix—a symbol of resilience and magic. Birds, like phoenixes, inspire me with their grace and spirit, and I hope my photos reflect that wonder.
Sea et quodsi minimum intellegebat, eirmod lobortis at his. Pri eu melius nostrud, magna euripidis duo in, evertitur prodesset quaerendum ei pri. Not currently! This is a hobby, not a business. All images are free to view, but if you’d like to support bird conservation, consider donating to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology—they do incredible work!
I share camera settings (lens, shutter speed, ISO, etc.) in each photo’s metadata. My equipment is modest—I prioritize learning over fancy gear. Bird photography is about patience and practice!
I shoot whatever I encounter in the wild, so no guarantees—but I’m always open to suggestions! Feel free to reach out via social media.
Just enjoy the birds! If you’d like to give back, donate to bird conservation efforts (like Cornell), or share the site with fellow bird lovers.
